Keyless Entry Question from a Dummy

I've owned my 98 2-door since 2000, and it had factory keyless entry. Over the years, one of the remotes was lost. It's then been through a VERY substantial front end collision, the clutches of a soulless ex-wife, and recently had the engine replaced with a Jasper engine after it finally gave out from how my ex treated it.

Now, my question is, through all of this, could whatever receiver or unit/equipment that gave me keyless entry have been removed during all of this? Namely during the engine swap. I searched here and google to try and find an answer, but came up dry. Thanks for your help!

Thanks, Polar. All that's left, now, is to order new remotes from the dealership or online. Awesome on the fast response, by the way!
