hello.

recent events are forcing me to replace my 10 bolt rear axle. its a 95 K1500 4WD short bed.

i want to upgrade to the 14 bolt, semi float, 6 lug axle.

i think the 14 bolt axle has the JB6 brakes yes? & as i have JB5 brake system, will i need all new brake lines & master cylinder? front brakes are being replaced too, so i am looking to go JB6 all the way.

just not sure if JB5 brake lines, MC, & ABS will handle JB6 discs & drums? & do they make JB6 brake lines for a short bed? werent all heavy halfs long beds?

my mechanic is looking into this, but maybe someone here has experience with the swap. thanks.

JB6 is the smaller drums on the SF 14B. Your stock master and lines will work fine on it. Although alot of people do swap masters to the NBS style for better feel.

Brake line size on my 8 lug 2500 is the same as a 3500, or a 1500. 1/4 from master to block, 3/16 out to wheels.
