Fuel gauge

I have a 92 Stepside and the fuel gauge is all the way to the right. PO stated the sending unit was replaced (they cut the bed to access the unit).
Could it be a ground issue or a bad sender assembly? Thanks

Could be either. All the way to the right indicates an open circuit, so a cut wire or loose ground could be it.

Since they left the hole for you, you can ground the lead and see if it moves the gauge.
