Deleted the rag joint today. Pretty straight forward, operates smooth. Deleted the plastic shroud, we will see if the snow and ice build up around the joint, may have to figure out some protection for it.

I wouldn't worry about the snow and ice, I have those in 2 of my trucks and never had a problem with ice buildup... it gets so hot in there the snow melts and unless there's a super heavy headwind blizzard when you park it Ice shouldn't build up there.
