fault codes and reading them

Is their a list on the net for the check engine light codes and their meanings? I have heard you guys talk about a paper clip in the diag port. Which prongs do I plug into? Thanks in advance

If you get an adapter and Torque Pro it will read the codes and then give you their meaning. Otherwise, try searching "OBDII" and you should find a list.

 

[SAATR]

If you are OBD1 you can jump the terminals in the port and flash the codes, then check their meaning online. OBD2 requires a scanner of some kind, as there is no way to flash codes.
