So I have a 92 k1500 and the e brake light is on. The e brake is not engaged and the brakes feel fine. Can anyone tell me where to start?

Pull the E-brake release while simultaneously pulling the e-brake pedal back with you're foot. If the light goes out, it means that there isn't enough spring pressure to fully disengage the brake pedal.

Normally, this would be caused by parking brake cables not adjusted properly or in need of replacement. They get a bunch of gunk in the cables over time and/or just rust away.
