DRL's

I know I'm drumming up and old thread here but did everyones DRL dash light go away when they removed the part like in the video? I just did this on my 1996 Sierra and the dash light is still illuminated when I put the truck in drive. I have HID's and the DRL function doesn't work anyway. I was hoping this would make the light on the dash stop coming on but no luck. Any thoughts?

You can pull your cluster and remove the DRL indicator bulb or remove the drl module located near the brake pedal and scrape a small section of the second conduit from the far right. I used this method and removed the resistor under the dash as well. No DRLs, no dash light. Theres a write up on another forum but I cant find it at the moment.
