I know this is a thang. Lost defroster, mystery spring in the floorboard. It took a couple of days for it to dawn on me what that meant and I looked for the spot, to no avail.

Will someone please point me to the bound-to-be existing threads regarding?

That's it. The plastic retainers at the ends of the spring break and it falls out.
