Do the motor mounts need to be removed for engine removal ?

Or just seperated by lifting the engine after removing the long bolt that holds the halves together ?
The truck is a 97 K1500.

You can pull the motor with the mounts in, you may have to pick the motor up a little to release the pressure on the bolts.
