Trying to resolve idle issues and replaced the coolant temp sensor. AC Delco 15-51107. Still kicking out CEL coolant temp sensor high. It would kick on the CEL immediately when starting.

Took the new sensor out, put the old one back in, problem solved. Odd thing is the new one seems to be in working order and it is the correct part number according to Rock Auto.

Just trying to determine if I have the wrong temp sensor.

You have an intermittent wiring issue. I'd expect it to come back unless you find where the wire is shorting out.
