Ok this happens only at start up and 30ish seconds after driving. It happens intermittently, not all of the time, only random times. Sometimes it will flash, and sometimes it will flicker really quickly. The light always goes off afterwords and it wont happen for another 2 weeks or so. Why?
Thanks-Josh

is your oil pressure slow to come up at start up thats one reason it will come on, also if your low on oil slowing down will drop the pressure and it will come on

Oil pressure jumps up almost immediately once the engine starts. Truck is not low on oil, filled to the full mark. Someone said something about it flashing being related to the cats being bad? I don't know, it doesn't happen much so its not a huge deal. I just want to know

What year is the truck? It does make a difference. Could just be a grounding in a gauge or sensor starting to go bad, just glitching.

Cats would cause a check engine light. Check gauge light is suppose to draw your attention to a componet not operating within a safe range. If its runnjng fine and guages are reading within normal, its just a glitch. Comluters get them for a thousand different reasons. Most common is a degrading ground or solder connection. More annoyance than concern.

If it comes on and really bothers me ill pull the bulb for it.. I watch my gauges like a hawk while driving so id notice any sudden drops in oil pressure or anything

i do know that on certain models/years, gm did not use a low fuel light, instead 'check gauges' would pop up
