Cassette w/ equalizer

88-94 cassette question:

I just got a cassette player with an equalizer and the proper head unit to go with it. I have it all hooked up to my old non-equalizer radio, and I can only adjust the very upper and very lower levels of the sound. Do i need to get a actual under dash radio unit that originally was for equalizers as well?

I just did the swap. If you are going from non-equalizer to equalizer you must swap the head unit, the cassette unit, and the radio itself.
