Hi all

Nice looking forum you have here!
Figured I would sign on and see how things are.

The truck that brought me here is a 1999 Chevrolet K2500.
Purchased it new and it seems to be a keeper thus far.
We have gone about 120K miles or so together.

Some details are:

Engine 5.7(L31), Trans 4L80(MT1), Axle 3.73(GT4/G80), Gibson short stainless headers,

cat back exhaust, Flex a Lite E-fans, AD244 Alternator, dual batteries(TP2),

rear helper air bags, compressor+tank, CB, scanner, strobe lights,

Line-X bed liner, Roll top, BGF tires on Teflon Mojave wheels,

torsion bars adjusted for about 1" extra front clearance,

wheel spacers in the rear, de-badged,

a bit over 12 MPG,

about 6200 Lbs.

The truck has been a pleasure to own, the only things that have held us up are:
fuel pump, passlock and the intake manifold gasket. Luckily the fuel pump went at about 71k miles, so the
warranty covered the pump but the theft deterrent module and intake gaskets I replaced after the warranty had expired.

As originally equipped, except for the tires, wheels and push bumper:

Monroe truck equipment(outfitter)handled the truck new and added things like the rear step bumper, bow-tie emblems on front seats, wood grain interior, running boards, bug guard, vent shades etc, the truck was originally located out of the way on the dealers lot with two others(ducks unlimited maybe). I was originally interested in a plain Jane white WT version but the only ones I could find at the time had been the fully loaded ones, the dealer let it go for 29,500 when the sticker had been just under 38 and the WT would have cost 28,500 to order IIRC.

I do have the 50 pounds of Helm manuals to reference but nothing compares to advice found on forums like these.

Surely I will be reading more than I will be posting here on GMT400.com and I do thank you all in advanced for the knowledge and experience.

Have a great one.
