You don't have to be huge to or go all out to play in rocks. I run my 95 discovery with a 3 inch lift and 32s on trails and can keep up on most level 4 trails all day with open difs. And now I will ***** pictures of my off road toy.

6-7" up front will clear a narrow 40 with ~5" of BS.

If you're going to run a 39.5x18 bogger or something, you're going to need either more lift or to push the axle further out forward with a link setup. If you offset the leaves enough to clear you're just going to wrap the spring all day.
