It seem to always want to fight going in. Pushing the spacers back a bit gives clearance.

Yup,that's a good way to do it. A drop of oil helps too. Same method for the Harrison A/C compressors.

Those look awful corroded. Next time be sure to give them some heat and penetrating oil before attempting to move them. The thin aluminum surrounding them is easy to snap off.

I push them back with a mini c-clamp myself.

Thought of that as I did it but figured the socket spread the push.

Since it's a casting, and tolerances are a little vague, with the mount and AC or AC delete bracket this was the next best idea. At least they are not some heavier washer spacers that would get lost, then be like gold to find probably.
