I'm Awesome
Decided it was finally time to make a build thread so here she is..
First off id like to say thank you to all of the guys that have contributed ideas and info towards the build, it would be no where without you guys . Feel free to leave comments, questions, and suggestions. I'd also like to say this build is a work in progress and many of your guys' builds put it to shame. Im a college student so I have to try to make it ballin on a budget. With that out of the way lets dive into it.
My truck is a '95 silverado z71 with a 5.7 tbi.
Heres what it looked like the day i bought it in August of 2011. It had 124,500 and came to wisconsin from cali where it spent the first 14 yrs of its life as a grandpa cruiser:
First I took off the running boards and tonneau cover:
Added 20% tint, painted frame, light bar, and cb whips cause im cool like that:
Next came k&n fipk, camo seat covers, dual head unit, pioneer speakers, kenwood sub.
Then came Browning windshield sticker, Black tsc tool box (why the hell didnt i get a low profile ), oh and those ugly ass altezza tails.
Then I ditched the 245 grandpa tires for a set of 285's on AR rims that I scored on CL
Then ditched the lightbar for a brushguard
Demolded, plastidipped bumpers, colormatched grill
Used vht nightshades on tails, 3rd brake light, and tails
Used headlight restoration hit on headlights
Ditched brushguard
Debadged, pulled off chevrolet banner, and took z71 stickers off
Next came 3" PA Body Lift (very nice kit, easy install) and flowmaster 50 series single in/dual out (dont recommend)
Pulled off plastidip, removed hanging hitch, added gap guards
Oh and heres a teaser pic of the new front end look
