95 k1500 recirc actuator

im looking for any info on the recirc actuator for my 95 k1500. i just replaced my blower motor resistor block (for no reason) to find the 12v and ground connection to have melted and was the actual culprit. now i cant get the recirc door to open for some reason. everything else is working and worked before i added a ground to the blower and bypassed the original connection for the factory ground (i reconnected the factory ground but didn't use the factory connection as it had melted/burned). thoughts?

Are you pressing the recirc button, or turning the temp control to max(counterclockwise fully), or both?

Those actuators are famous for going out

Is it making a noise at all when you engage it? Usually if they're bad when you try to engage it they will make a thumping noise.
