5lm60 to nv4500 swap

What all is involved? Do the cross member or drive shafts have to be altered? My truck is a 1990 K1500 with a 350(tbi) 5LM60, np231 and 14 bolt sf. Would it be easier to find an early nv4500 so I keep the external slave?

It's a pretty simple swap. Both trans are the same length. Get a nv4500 with the external slave to simplify things. You may have to switch to a master cylinder for a nv4500. It has a larger slave I'm not sure if your old master will move enough fluid but don't quote me on that.
