4l60 to 4l80 swap

Got a 97 sierra with 5.7 with 4l60 am i able to install a 4 l80 into the truck? Or will i have problems with it. I am also considerin on putting in a np241 necuz i dont like the np243 that i currently have. Because then i could potentaly look for a donor truck with all that i need. If your wondering why the 4l80 because i want to do a 6 in lift with 37's and a 14sf with 4.88's. But the other question is all the front diff's the same or no?

TO swap in a 4l80e you'll need a new tranny crossmember and a new shorter front driveshaft. For the front diffs, they are not all the same. The 1/2 ton and light duty 3/4 ton came with an 8.25 front diff while the other 2500s and one tons had a bigger front diff

you'll probly have to split a 241 to change out the input shaft, 4l80e's output is larger than the 60's, but since your going to do a solid swap, look for a 241 from a 6.5l or larger pickup/surban that already has a solid front. kinda hard to find but they made 241's with passanger side drop
