Isn't that on the wrong side of the alternator feed? Or does the isolator automatically switch?

It is on the wrong side of the alternator feed, hence the importance of what switches that isolator. I want to add 2 aux batteries to the dually whose purpose would be to augment the 2 batteries already in my camper. I'd use the stock isolator that came with the truck and just make sure it closed with ignition power. Truck off, use the batteries as desired, kill them if need be, truck will still fire right up at which point it can now charge those aux batteries.

^ that or you will need to have the override switched on when the truck is running to have the alternator charge the second battery.
