1997 Z71 383 vortec swap?

Sometime in the near future im thinking about swapping the 5.7 vortec to a mild 383 stroker with basic bolt ons and a Blackbear tune. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get the best deal on a 383 crate motor or should i build it myself?

gm sells a ht383 as a replacement engine but its pricey its about 5 grand but it comes with new water pump distributer oil pan plug wires and chain cover

from what I have been told, the gains on the street aren't worth the money, Have you removed the bubble from the throttle blade yet? not personally acquainted with this but I did read about it on one of the truck forums. Looking for it
