So ive been looking up what could he wrong still no info on how to test anything. If its an ignition switch which wire would not be getting power? If its the TCC wires inside the trans shorted would the fuse blow?

The problem started last night as soon as i started my truck. It wouldnt shift. I found some wires under the dash going to the ignition switch were hacked up and when moving them around the tach started working, so i pulled it in the shop and fixed the wiring but that didnt fix it. The fuses are all good and have power.

This is a common issue on 1995 & later, I just had it on My 95 c1500.
The answer is a relay that bypasses the ignition switch, mine was about $ 105 and I am told it is the best solution and fast, But I cant remember the name of product, I will try to find it and get back to You

You can get ordering info from them, a little hassle but seems worth it
