Ended up swapping out the bulbs in my cluster this weekend, couldn't find definitive answers anywhere so here's the bulb sizes for the 95-99 cluster:

You must be registered for see images attach

Large black socket - 161 bulb (3)
Large gray socket - 194 bulb (3)
Large off-white socket - 194 bulb (2)
Small gray socket - 74 bulb (9)

I would edit my original post, but unfortunately cannot. The amount of the bulb size 74 needed will vary depending on your truck. At max you will need 14 of them (looks like two empty ones above the ABS light)... albeit highly unlikely. I do not have glow plugs, or an upshift bulb to name a couple. Just take a look at the picture and if add on the amount of empty bulb spaces there are in my gauge cluster.

Do you need just the bulb? in other words do the bulbs pull out of the twist lock? I have heard different stories on this

Yes, you only need the bulbs. They will be a bit tight in the socket but what helps is wiggling the bulb side to side as you pull up on the bulb.

Did you use bulbs with diffusers? I put LED's in the cluster in my 2005 Trailblazer, and it has hotspots like crazy. I would want to prevent that with this one.

I looked for a 161 bulb on Super Bright and could not find them. The 194 keeps coming up when I put the 161 in the search.

On the packages of my Sylvania LEDs, they say they will replace 161/194 bulbs. Superbrightleds will only have 194, since that's the most common LED bulb, and they will work where a 161 bulb was at. I put 194 LEDs in my cluster and they work great.

FYI - in my 95 K2500 the bulbs are soldered into the twist lock sockets and cant be removed. I had to order the bases from amazon ("Partsam" makes bases for both the #74 and the #194 bulbs).
Dang, sorry for misinformation then. I guess some of the trucks have the interchangeable bulbs, some don't. Thanks for sharing!
