Timing was set to 0 degrees TDC a few months ago after replacing intake manifold gaskets and the Yukon ran fine. It has started pinging recently on moderate to hard acceleration. I decided to check the timing again to make sure it was still set. After unplugging the tan/black wire I checked the timing and it was set way after TDC although it idles fine. So I tried to adjust it back to 0 degrees TDC and it will barely run.
"Question being if the knock detect sensor goes out will this inable the timing to be properly set?" Is there a way to check the knock detect sensor with a volt/ohm meter?
