Calipers [were] a good first-guess. Didn't fix it, though...

...Brake hoses have a bad reputation for becoming one-way valves. I've never seen it in real life. I've seen multiple brake hoses that just plugged--no flow either direction. NEVER seen one that allowed fluid one way, prevented return the other way. But I suppose there's always a first time...
I've seen it! I got bit by that snake the second time I did brakes. Replaced the calipers on my '89 Firebird and it still pulled. Was then told by my shop teacher that hoses can cause that, so try & replace 'em. Problem solved, and that was 19 or 20 years ago now. "..twenty years, where'd they go? Twenty years, I don't know. I sit and I wonder sometimes, about where they've gone.."
