Anyone installed any headers on a 1988 K1500 with a 5.7 ? I am looking at the ones that summit sells that are supposed to bolt up to stock exhaust. Reason being my manifolds have air ports for air pump and they have been eliminated and leak bad. Tired of the ticking air noise.

I have the G9015 headers with A.I.R. ports on my 88 C1500 and yes, they do bolt right up to the stock Y pipe, although I went with the mandrel bent JBA Y pipe for better flow over the OE crimped bend one.

I put shortie headers on my '88 1500 4x4 with the 5.0. They were a direct fitment. They already had an O2 bung on them. Do the ones you looked at have one? If not, they're for a '93-ish which had the O2 in the "Y" of the head pipe.

In that case you could either weld in a bung into the header, or in the driver side of of the head pipe just an inch or so downstream.

Yes, mine do.
Did you have to put a three wire oxygen sensor in?
I did anyway to help get it into CL quicker and keep it there at idle. Now I'm running a WBO2 in the collector of the Y pipe. I may go back to the NBO2 sometime down the road when I'm done playing with the tune, :Big Laugh:

I put the ceramic coated version on my 88. Haven't had time to hook the exhaust up, but it's close enough that it won't be an issue. I'm going to a 3 wire sensor, but that was planned long before the headers, I actually bought the sensor & pigtail in 2013, they've just been sitting on a shelf since then.
