    Supporting the little guy

We’ve got a little one man shop in McComb, MS called McComb’s Auto Electric about like thinger2 mentioned above. If he goes in a starter or alternator, he rebuilds it all, and usually much cheaper that the box store’s lowest end part. David, the owner, is good people too.

    TBI, Vortec, 6.5…. or LS?

If they cut the frame to install a Cummins in a GMT 400, it was a not a quality job. It is tight, but can be done on both 2 and 4wd with no frame cutting or body lift. Did enough on both that I designed and made my own mounts. The 73-87 the frame ahead of the engine crossmember needs notched...

    TBI, Vortec, 6.5…. or LS?

If it were mine, I’d find a good Gen6 block and rebuild, but install a better cam (the factory cam in these was “lazy”), a better set of injectors (poor design) and update the ecm to an 0411 with a good tune, and you’d be surprised at the difference.

    Frame issues

Wasn’t so far away, i have a crew cab 4wd frame with front suspension, i’ll let go for a very reasonable price. Its a fair bit of work, and are/know a good welder, you could find a good 3/4 or 1t 4wd frame you and remove the front section and weld on your frame. The front section slides in-and...

    4l80E Low on Fluid

A few of the builders that specialize in the 4L80 recommend remarking your dipstick to show full 1/4 inch above where the pan bolts to the case.

    1994 2500 8-lug 4x4 transmissions

Back about 92-early 93, went with my brother to look at a very clean, 1 old man owner 85 C10. Not a scratch, interior looked new, low miles, garage kept from day one. Very very reasonably priced. Test drove it and found out why it was still sitting there- it surged bad after it warmed up...

    No Tranny Codes, Not pumping?

Quick glance thru the other thread and didn’t see this asked, but is the torque converter still bolted to the flexplate? Should be 3 bolts attaching the two together.

Tbi 350 bogs and stalls at half throttle

Is the electrical side of your map sensor good? To test: There are 3 wires going to the sensor. 5v hot, a feed back, and a ground. The feed back is the middle wire. With a multi meter, check that you have 5v going to the sensor. Plug it in, and tap into your feed back wire. I used a...

    Fuel Injectors?

Like Highwaystar, i was going to recommend a cleaning service like https://www.witchhunter.com/ But you can rig up a way to pressure it up with a syringe full of cleaner, (has to be removed from the throttle body) and can take a 9v to cycle it. Pulling it would also let you check the inlet...

    65’ Malibu SS/ Backroad thrasher.

Check the frame in the rear. I’d remove the rear bumper and take my time to see if I could pull the quarter panel back out. Even if you had to put a new trunk pan in. Then drive it. Everyone is telling me to restore the 65 C10 my grandfather bought new, but I just drive it and enjoy.

FOR SALE - 1991 Chevrolet V3500 Silverado Crew Cab Diesel Dually 4×4

9-11 lbs of boost was all the Banks setup made, but it makes the 6.2 a total different engine. I’ve surprised more than a few gas burners with the old beater. AND I get 22-24 mpg if I keep my foot out of it with no OD.
