    Running a heavier oil

One more for running RT6 5/40 in 350’s. No problems. Helps when they are older, bearing clearances / oil press etc. I’ve used it in other engine as well, good oil. I’ve also used MMO on lifters. Sometime worked, sometimes didn’t. My old Yukon (170k miles) has been on 5/40 Rotella T6 for...

    Cannot get doors back on

maybe post a picture of how/what you are doing.. Not to be demeaning, but it really is as simple as you say you are doing. Just getting it all lined up. Bit more difficult with a Jack though, and one person. Are the bushing in correctly, and the correct ones - not too long or something...

    Should I upgrade Leaf Springs?

OP. Springs, like anything else, wear out. They are a consumable. If they are the original springs they will have lost a lot of their weight carrying capacity, and not evenly either, one side usually sags more than the other. These trucks do not (should not) lean, or need air bags to handle...

What are your thoughts on this rust? Can I repair or do I need to replace?

No, not snarky at all. Recommended to top coat, but you can leave it that way as well. I top coat it. But you must start with a clean prepped base material. And top coat while it is tacky, very important. It is a very different coating system, similar, but different. Much, thicker. I’ve...

What are your thoughts on this rust? Can I repair or do I need to replace?

I’m not sure how deep you’re going to get into this, thought I’d pass this on if you’re going further than oil spraying etc. If you’re cleaning things up and coating, there is a product that has worked very well for me. POR I’ve given up on, it fails after a few yrs, and is not UV stable...

who are the go to steering/suspension parts now?

I’ve used XRF a couple times now. If not using oem, I was impressed with them. No issues, everything fit, all greased ready to go. I’ll use them again. Personally I’ve given up on Moog, especially the ball joints.

Steering gearbox options from other models

I always recommend Blue Top. I’ve used several now, never an issue. He Replaces the plain bearing / bushing with a roller. Worth the money imho. I’ve never heard of a bad gear box from him either.

What are your thoughts on this rust? Can I repair or do I need to replace?

New here, have experience with restorations and mtce. And running trucks/vehicles in the salt for a long time. For a winter vehicle, carry on with what you are doing, and oil spray the whole thing when you are done. Inside and out. It’ll help slow that rust down. There’s various products, or...

    Steering gearbox replacement/rebuild

I’ve used Blue top a couple of times now, I’ve had good luck with their gear boxes. One nice thing they do is, replace plain bearing/ bushing with roller bearings. Fast turn time too. I’ve never had good luck with over the counter, or lares etc. they are usually overly tight out of the box...

    New from Canada

Thank you for the welcome guys, appreciate it. That first pic was two years ago, I couldn’t find a current one when I posted earlier. The paint is breaking down now everywhere, and just about everything else needs some tlc. It was originally a California truck, but the past decade or so in...

    New from Canada

Hey Everyone, New member from Canada. I have a 97 Yukon, it’s a bit tired at this point and I’ve been considering turning it into a project. It was my daily / work / trail running truck for about 10 yrs, and now I rarely drive it, but I miss it. I’m just finishing up my ford pickup rebuild...
