    Fender help

Any new aftermarket fender will be cheap and tinny. My friend replaced his with ones online and while it's better than a rusty fender, it's not as good as a OEM one. Look up your vehicle on here and your zip code. Make sure there are pictures and find the cheapest and nicest one you can...

I just use Peak universal coolant in my truck.

    Who is hotwheelsburbon?

You'll never find anything NEARLY as good on other forums. Reddit is well...Reddit, and other Chevy/GMC forums NOT run by @Shaggy are completely barren. Information of everything is so much more sparse it's insane. Thank god this forum is still alive and active.

    2500 Master Cylinder on 1500?

You absolutely have given me inspiration to improve my brakes. I love how firm these brakes are. They're so aggressive they make the truck skip if I floor the brakes while driving. I'm also glad to have @Schurkey on this forum educating young dudes like me and without him, I wouldn't have the 14...

    2500 Master Cylinder on 1500?

From what you write here, and the link you sent me to the other thread with another link to a forum talking about this, I PERSONALLY believe that these are one of those 70s designs from the gas crisis era that engineers created to make vehicles as fuel efficient as possible and GM...

    2500 Master Cylinder on 1500?

Update: Been driving around a while and I really like these brakes. There's a bit of sponge, but then there's this really firm wall and all of a sudden, the brakes grab with all their might. Much better than what I originally had and it reminds me of the brakes I used to have, but more...

    2500 Master Cylinder on 1500?

UPDATE: I got my new JB7 Master Cylinder last night. Looks pretty good, but HOLY F*** was the lid tight. I was using all the strength in my hands to pull this lid off which I don't have to do with my other MC. There's also a little bit of a vaseline type lube on the edge of the reservoir and...

    2500 Master Cylinder on 1500?

Yes, all GMT400 Suburbans should've gotten 245s on 16" rims. None came with 265s from the factory, as there was no Z71 Suburban or offering with oversized tires at the time.

    2500 Master Cylinder on 1500?

Yes, Tahoes could get either JB5 or JB6 brakes. Suburbans got JB6 standard which makes sense given the weight. According to this link here, you COULD get 225/75/R16s, although I've never seen one in my own experience. Most 400s are 245/75/R16. Z71 and 265s are separate RPO codes. Z71 is the...

What are your thoughts on this rust? Can I repair or do I need to replace?

X2 forgot that as well. You can pull the backing plates and dunk them in Coca Cola, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper or any soda with phosphoric acid. I’ve done this in the past with rusty AK parts and it works wonders. Also, Dormans website cross references all its parts. Use their website to find said cross...

What are your thoughts on this rust? Can I repair or do I need to replace?

Forgot about that. If only gas trucks could've been that way. Especially the 5.7 since it was the base engine for the 2500/3500

What are your thoughts on this rust? Can I repair or do I need to replace?

That's what I love about my 14 bolt. Much thicker robust case which I wanted after having 2 10 bolts rust away. 14 bolt semi floats were the base axle for 2500/3500 trucks and you could also get 10.5 inch and 11.5 inch full float axles as options. Would've been nice if GM made 1/2 tons with...

What are your thoughts on this rust? Can I repair or do I need to replace?

As I said before, clean it up with a wire brush and maybe paint the metal if you want. @Schurkey will disagree with me on this one, but 10 bolts are ok on STOCK power. They also last a while when you don't abuse them. My 2 10 bolt axles both rusted away before I said f*** it and got a 14 bolt.

No Problem! Learning from what I know and passing it on to the next GMT400 owner!

What are your thoughts on this rust? Can I repair or do I need to replace?

Not to be mean, but you have no idea how bad rust is in the Upper Midwest, Northeast, Great Lakes Area, and Southern Ontario/Quebec compared to Lower Midwest states like MO. My truck is from central MO with some rust and it's better than 60-70% of local GMT400s from around here. Despite my rust...

What are your thoughts on this rust? Can I repair or do I need to replace?

My $0.02 coming from MN Your leaf springs are shot. Replace them both, can go new or used, although I'd recommend going down to a state like KS or MO if you're getting used springs and make sure to get them in pairs. Push on the backing plate. Not with your whole weight, but strong enough for...

    Grabbing brakes on 97 C3500

Have you considered loosening the lug nuts, lifting Rawhide up and lowering Rawhide down? The force of the truck should be able to break the wheel loose, but the lug nuts partially on will prevent the wheel from flying off. Also, have you used a sledgehammer with a longer handle? The leverage...

    Holley door shell

IDK if this is true or not, but I'm about 6 hour drive from the border and my parents told me about a time where Americans could travel into Canada for a short time without a passport. My parents traveled to Thunder Bay, ON without a passport years ago (Pre 9/11?) and didn't have an issue. When...

    2500 Master Cylinder on 1500?

Thank You so much! So far the brakes aren't bad, but I'm ordering a new MC rn for the reasons you stated above. JB6 did wonders to mu truck and made it much more pleasant to drive. IDK why JB6 didn't come standard on pickups as it did with SUVs? I am also running calipers with a 3.15" bore...
