Sounds like you should start a separate thread on this as it's getting some interest. Doesn't make sense to chat it up on my member thread... just sayin.
That would get me good enough.
On the lookout for a whole front clip to get everything back to 100%. The radiator support is slightly out of wack, and the passenger fender even has as slight bow in it from the hood pushing into it. Hard to find anything without rust in Minnesota though..
A couple updates and pics.
The wife got into a hit and run accident, driver side front, so that was a long drug out ordeal that didn't end up very good with insurance but whatever.
Bought some parts to get it back on the road. Where the bumper mounts go is just slightly tweaked but does not...
I'm also looking into lowering a 4x4, my '95 k1500. Something different, and I want the 4x4 for the snow. Drop keys are the only thing I've found to date for the front. It's unfortunate so many people just hate the idea and there is very little information out there about it. I have keys and...
A kill switch is on the list to install, I bought a switch last week. Also have a steering wheel bar/lock to hopefully deter anyone from causing damage to my column plastic and key cylinder again before they realize it won't start.
Right in my driveway, about 30 feet from my front door. Truck was parked parallel with the street. It sits in front of the garage door now, where there is a camera. I hate theives.
Got to love hopping in the truck and finding this.
They stole a couple Leatherman, a knife, and my suction cup phone holder. Did more damage than anything. What a pain in the @$$.
Okay so I'm double that.. lets see if I can triple it!
I shouldn't have put how old the tires were, this wasn't intended to be a thread about how bad running old tires are.. noted for next time and removed from the original post.
:badidea::sorrysign:
Oh I've been there done that. I've lost tread on 3 tires in my lifetime so far, each experience different than the other. This isn't a daily but new tires are on the list. My plan is to try and burn these ones off, might as well try and have a little fun with them. If damage happens, so be it...
Nah I don't need it and I'm 6'2 so no need to lower either, if anything it needs to get a little taller! I really just think it's neat and adds a custom touch to the truck, makes it mine a little, ya know?
The step is handy on my conversion van for cleaning bugs off the windshield. It would...
What good would it be if it didn't? Found some original paperwork online for it, 250lb load limit. I didn't install it per factory recommendations, but it holds me at 180lbs fine.
I could not figure out how the overhead console lights were supposed to run the way they were wired.. so I installed a simple switch for them and hid it in the cubby.
I spotted a 1991 GMC Starcraft Conversion Van for sale on Facebook last weekend and it had one of the fold-a-way license plate steps that I have been searching for, for a couple years, PLUS it had the Starcraft logo on it so I had to have it. I talked the owner into selling me the step and I...
I bought this 1995 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 Extended Cab Short Box 5.7L with a Starcraft conversion off of eBay last week. It's a 1 owner with 97,600 miles and a lot of the original paperwork.
For the most part it is very clean, no rust, no obvious leaks or odd noises of any kind. I flew down...
That's pretty similar to the one I got my license plate step off of minus 4 wheel drive, very cool. I love those vans. That front bumper is wild! I have an 89 sterling coach limited G20 that has all the options, is a great old van.
I actually have a piece of original paperwork on the overhead console, which is how I found out what was going on up there.. In the front there is a hidden spot for a radar detector and a 12v plug for it. The black part is a dark plexiglass with lights behind it, but I need to hook up a switch...
They're unique and I appreciate that! I got lucky it was so close, 45 minute flight, I wouldn't have got it otherwise. I scored a StarCraft front license plate step for it off of a 91 van the other day, it'll be a fun project.
On the forum as of this week haha. Yeah, I spent a bit more than I wanted on it but the wife liked it. They weren't telling the whole truth on the listing, but I drove it home 180 miles without issue. Neat old 95, just needs some love.
I just purchased a 1 owner 95 K1500 with a Starcraft conversion last week with 97,600 miles on it. Personally I kind of like the extra bits that come with the package. It came with the original Starcraft and GM paperwork. I have the paperwork showing what Starcraft purchased the truck for with...
