I’ll be jumping into doing this swap also. 5.3 LM7 going into 98 k1500. I’d like to use the terminator x from Holley but I want to keep my stock gauges working. Has anyone been able to do that?
Not sure if these are what he’s referring to but I found some!

Talked with Ryan at S&J today. Will be sending my quote to me tomorrow. So I’ll let you know total pricing. Real helpful guy answered all of my questions and also made some suggestions on the upgrades I’m wanting to do.
Seems like a decent price to me. Will be calling them tomorrow for more info.

Planning on swapping out the tired 5.7 for a 383 stroker from S&J Engines. Is there any upgrade I could do on the stroker instead of the stock intake manifold from the 5.7? Would like to stay with mpfi instead of tbi or carbed.
The truck does have a 3 inch body lift on it. Not sure if that changes anything. Talked to my local exhaust guy and he said it’s probly best to install the headers on the motor before dropping into the engine bay. Is that correct?

Planning on swapping out the tired 5.7 for a 383 stroker from S&J Engines. Looking for a set of long tube headers to put on it, what’s the best brand to go with? How are the ebay headers?
Does anybody know of a good forum or write up anywhere that shows the whole process and lists everything that needs to be disconnected from the engine for it to come out?
Honestly from watching a few more videos, it’s seems like doing the extra work to take off the core support makes it a helluva lot easier to get inside there and have more working room
