2500 to 3500 conversion?

I was thinking just single rear wheel. I just want to reduce rear end sag when towing. I know I can get air bags, but I was just checking possible alternative options.

I own a suburban 2500 and I was wondering if I could swap springs and brakes from a 3500 and effectively have a suburban 3500?
