    Front end rebuild kits K2500

My next project is to rebuild the front suspension on my 1998 K2500 with 146k miles. The steering is a little loose, and will be replacing (at least) ball joints, pitman arm and idler arm. I also want to level out the front end. While I'm at it, from your experience, what else would you...

    1998 Cheyenne K2500 4WD not engaging

Gentlemen, Thank you for all of the advice and guidance! I gave up and took the truck to a local mechanic to diagnose the problem. I have no shame in that! I could not solve my two issues. One being the 4WD, and the other being, no power to the temperature control panel. Turns out, the ignition...

    1998 Cheyenne K2500 4WD not engaging

Is this the 2 prong connector you are referring to? if so, with the ignition key on and shifter in 2Hi, the green or blue-ish wire had power, the other wire did not have power. I then moved the floor shifter to 4Hi and the results were the same.

Here is what I did and it may not be right, but I tried. As for power in: with the multimeter set at DC V, the center...

I bought a non-running truck a few months ago. Original engine was blown. Installed a rebuilt 5.7 engine a a couple days ago. The truck runs and drives well. I am working out a few kinks. One being the 4WD will not engage. This truck has the manual transfer case on the floor. I installed a new...

Thank you! I was lucky, I found the red one locally, in northern Illinois. The guy who owned it moved up here from Georgia and then parked the truck next to his garage. It sat there for more than 5 years. He was moving again and put it up for sale. It wasn't running when i bought it, but it was...

Here are a couple pictures of our trucks. The Red C1500 Silverado has 83K original miles, 5.0/auto. The White K2500 Cheyenne is my project, 5.7/auto has 146K miles. I bought it not running a few months ago. The engine was blown. Just installed a rebuilt 5.7 and took it on it's maiden voyage...
