    Hey guys I'm doing the intake manifold gaskets on my pickup and the intake manifold bolts and studs are pretty rough, where can I buy a new set of studs that everything mounts to? All of the intake manifold bolt kits don't include studs which I think I need.

    It would explain the slight coolant leak and if the cooling system gets air in it that would explain the boiling after the engine is shut off, when the cooling system isn’t under pressure it will boil if there is air in the system

    1994 5.7 factory manifolds or shorty headers?

    Ended up going with Dorman manifolds from Amazon. Install was very smooth, only hang up was the spring and nut for the flange. It seems the spring got mashed to hell at 25 foot pounds.

    I’ve only had this truck for 6 months. 372,000 miles. The cap, wires and plugs were done recently before I got it. It runs really well at idle but If I try to give it the beans shes a let down. I was hoping that fixing the shattered manifold would help with the performance but she’s not a hot...

    That’s good to know, I’m not looking for gainz but since I need to buy new manifolds anyways I was seeing if it’s worth it to go with headers. At this point I’m leaning towards a set of dorman manifolds

    I have a 1994 Chevy k1500 with the 5.7, I knew I had an exhaust leak but didn’t realize it was this bad. The truck runs good (no check engine light) but the performance is terrible, could this be why?

    New Crate L31 Replacement Parts

    I have to agree about the replacement electronic quality. I would rather pull a pocket full of old factory sensors at pick n pull than use a new Ac Delco part.

    @someotherguy The Dorman 03412B kit showed up today, should be a direct fit for the passenger side. I ordered the Dorman 675-217 kit for the driver side and it should fit well. Here is a picture comparing my old bolt with the new bolt:

    @someotherguy Yup I have power steering studs, when I pull up that Forman kit on Amazon it says it isn’t compatible with my 1994 k1500 is that right?

    Misfire between 45-55 mph

    Is it possible that what you think is a missfire is something else? Like a bad u-joint or out of balance tire?

    4l60e clunk!

    Sometimes your transmission will shift harder if it is warm and a loose u-joint will be louder. Greasing a u-joint does not fix the problem because a worn u-joint has excessive clearance or slop so when you shift your transmission there is room for it to move and cause a clunk.
