HD Headlight Harnesses w/ 4 High Mod

Can you do it for a W/T single headlights and use the high beam to trigger the extra relay for a light bar? But have the light bar switchable so I can run without the light bar if I choose?

    New Engine swap out

Ok guys, decided to go with GM L31 crate engine. The price difference isn't much and it's a NEW engine.

    New Engine swap out

Probably, but I have heard warranty on any crate engine is a pain to get honored if you do the swap yourself. So I prefer the best quality for my money. I'm leaning towards the GM and just running headers and carb. The vortec already makes enough power for daily driving. I can't rebuild the...

    New Engine swap out

I was gonna go with a blueprint engine. But I have to keep in mind how much this truck is worth and also new clutch thrown in. $2,799 Longblock Includes: Oil pan, timing cover, valve covers and individual dyno results $3,199 Dressed Longblock includes: Above plus intake manifold...

    New Engine swap out

Before we get started. I dont want LS motor. So my 94 c2500 with nv4500 is getting close to 300k miles. I will burn 2 quarts of oil every tank. Doing some research it COULD be the valve seals. It could be rings. It smokes all the time but really bad upon hard acceleration So I was looking at...

Looking to run amp wire on passenger side

I ran my wires under the coolant tank. Drilled a nice size hole and put a grommet in it.

    Gear ratio identification

So I went outside. Jacked up one side of the trucks axle. Ten turns to the wheel. Pinion turned 18.65 times. So 18.65 pinion rotations ÷ 10 tire rotations = 1.865 1.865 x 2 (for each side of axle I guess) = 3.73 So I have 3.73 gears. Should of looked while I had the cover off......oh well.

    Gear ratio identification

Unfortunately I just did the diff fluid about 2 weeks ago. I'm trying to find a cam rpm that will work with the gears in it. The ring and pinion looked perfect, but I was hoping for 4.10 gears. Once I get home I'm gonna recount in multiple of tens.

    Gear ratio identification

Sweet!!! I will turn it 10x. More precise than turning 1 time.

    Gear ratio identification

I will give it a shot tomorrow. I re checked it probably 6 times. Even had one of my kids under it counting it. I couldn't believe it. We will try and lift both tires off the ground.

    Wheels for a 4/6 drop?

What size backspacing/offset and tire size?
  17. TxChevyGuy

    Gear ratio identification

Tried that. Gave me 1.75ish pinion vs tire. Maybe because only one tire was off the ground? Yeah. 14 Bolt, 8 lug. Fixed it in the orginal post. Been up for 20 hours. This is the first axle that I tried to figure out the ratio. In my Jeeps I was installing lockers so gears got replaced anyway.

    Gear ratio identification

Trying to figure out my gear ratio. 14 bolt, 8 lug, semi float. 1994 c2500 with 5.7 and nv4500 No tag on the cover, and these are the only stamping on the tubes ry8 g353 1205 023427 No build codes on door or glove box so that's not gonna help. Here's a link to a picture...

Tow points that are stronger than the truck

I leave the D ring off normally. It's super low key. But I try not to get irresponsible. I use it just for a tow point if I need a pull back to the house or if I get stuck in the back pasture. Give ya something to hook a strap to and pull it with the tractor.

Tow points that are stronger than the truck

I didn't have any paint. It's super easy to take on and off. I painted it the following day. Just the normal rustoleum black paint.

    Whats the average?

I highly specialized in a certain Jeep that they don't make much for it. And I also have a plasma table, and a full blown metal fab shopn my just my garage. I had stuff from a plasma table to tig welders to a CNC machine. When guys came to me they knew they were gonna pay alot but in the end I...

Tow points that are stronger than the truck

Disclaimer: that title hasn't been tested. But I have a 2wd. Often need a front point to be towed or something like that. So here's what I made. The d ring mount is fron RuffStuff. Its 1" wide and 1" hole. Started with 3"x4"x1/4" angle iron. The bottom two holes are the factory tow...

    Whats the average?

Local hot rod guy who welds using lead and gas torch charges $85 an hour for shop time. He's a one man show working out of his garage. He doesn't do paint just body work and chopping and channeling cars. When I ran my fab shop I charged minimum $350 with $175 an hour plus actual cost of...

Trying to get that specific exhaust sound

This is my first SBC. And I want that classic sound. Personally the sound I have now is too deep Currently I have TBI engine, with factory exhaust manifolds, factory Y pipe into a long glass pack. Probably 24-30 inches long and no cats. It's pretty deep and sounds like every other Chevy truck...

    Whats the average?

Body drop? That's expensive!!!!! If you have to ask you can't afford it. Just like hot rod custom paint. Don't ask, just let me do it.
