Correct. Cut the light green wire and connect the two wires coming from the compressor switch, one to each end.

    Trans fluid leaking to TC

Hello Guys. just finished installing a crate engine in my truck after 4 years of seating in the driveway. when I started the job, I noticed a fluid leak under the transfer case, so I removed it and resealed it. before removing the TC and before draining it, I opened the filler plug, and a...

    A/C compressor replacement

Thanks for all the recommendations guys. the AC was working fine before the old engine died. it’s already converted to R134a, an I used REDTEK refrigerant with grate result. With that said, the truck was seating neglected for almost 4 years, as I was busy with my other projects. Most of the AC...

    A/C compressor replacement

Sorry for reviving this old thread. I'm putting a crate engine in the truck and thinking about replacing the AC compressor "while I'm in there", and would like to do it the right way. the compressor I have now is obviously not the one that came with the truck. the pressure switch on the...

need help with the motor mounts.

Will do in the near future. I’m not really looking for performance at the moment. Just need to get the truck rolling of the driveway ASAP. But I did get a bored out TBI and new injector. Just in case

need help with the motor mounts.

Thanks. I will keep my old mounts just in case. I ended up using the Drivetech I got from NAPA, as they looked the best quality out of the three I got. lets see how they hold with my makeshift spacers.

need help with the motor mounts.

Thanks, Schurkey. I wasn't aware of the optional warpage of the cast iron manifolds. headers were in the plan, but as I need the truck running ASAP, I didn't want to deal with fitment issues at this moment. Almost any cheap headers I found online have mixed reviews regarding fitment. I ended up...

need help with the motor mounts.

Old 1-7/16". New 1-9/16". so that 1/8" difference. I ended up adding a couple of large washers under the bottom bolt and I will see how it holds. I can always add a steel plate if needed. the bottom bolt is the easy one to get to. now I have a new headache. stock exhaust manifold doesn't bolt...

need help with the motor mounts.

I got drive tech from Napa. Duralast from auto zone, and also got one from O’Reilly that I already returned. All 3 have that 1/8”-1/4” gap.

need help with the motor mounts.

the new ones I got, looks good quality if to be honest. They just don’t seat flash with the button. I’ll try installing it with a spacer, but will keep the old ones just in case.

need help with the motor mounts.

Hello guys. I'm replacing the motor mounts on my 89 K1500. I've already got 3 sets from 3 different vendors, and none of them fits. all are marked as K compatible, but when I dry fit it on the truck, I get about a 1/8" gap between the new mount and the chassis. am I doing something wrong or will...

    Front Axle basic question

thanks for the reply, and i apologize for using the wrong terms. what i probably should have ask is if i can remove the front diff and the CV axles, and still drive the truck. it is covered with a mixture of oil and mud, so i need to take it to be cleaned before i start working on it. so...

    Few A/C questions.

yes. that was my first thought. i already have the fan installed. not connected yet. this is the one i got. didn't take a picture on the truck, but it fits perfectly. my first thought was to do as you say (and you are right. on my other cars the fan is always on if the AC is on), but...

Well, took some measurements last night. 88F with 66% humidity ambient temperature , 42F while driving around town, 50F at idle. Thermometer directed to center vent, and the mix flap is open (fresh air). Electric fan is not connected yet. Just for reference I drove my wife car (2017 Hyundai...

    Few A/C questions.

So the concept is to connect the pressure sensor to the high pressure line? I think your idea with the temp sensor is not bad at all. I drove the truck today to work, and also went on the highway at noon when temp was around 90. The ac was blowing very cold. I capt it on medium an two lines...
