Helicoil starter bolt hole

Top post battery conversion

I want to convert the battery in my 88 K1500 to a top post battery (for obvious reasons lol.) Besides replacing the cables What do i look for in a battery? Do i just match up the cold cranking amps and physical battery size?

NV3500/NP208 question

I know the transfer case being in neutral would cause the truck not to move but, would it allow the truck to stay running in gear without the clutch pushed in? Trying to figure something out from a previous thread

NV3500 problems

I just put an nv3500 in my 88 k1500 4wd. I had no problem driving it until a friend, after i told him not to, got in and started messing around. He put it in gear, let out the clutch and the truck stayed running. Heard a loud pop, all the sudden the truck won't move. Funny how he magically "had...

Speaker Upgrade

Hey guys. Got an 88 k1500 with 4x6 dashboard speakers. Wondering if theres anything i can do to fit 6.5's in the dash? Some kind of adapter plate? In my experience, 4x6s don't sound that great and i already have a set of 4 Kicker 6.5s lying around that i need something to do with. Thanks

Hey everybody. 88 K1500

[ATTAy 2014. It's not the greatest looking truck but it had all the options i wanted, it was 4x4 with the 4.3 V6 and a 5speed with only 78K miles on a newer Vortec engine and a loud as hell exhaust that was split at the y pipe. Here is a picture of the truck when i first got it. Not sure why...

replacing battery cables

Hey guys I'm new here. Im in the process of replacing my battery cables after replacing the transmission in my 88 K1500, i ran the positive down to the starter and the other end up to the battery. Wondering where the small cable connects to? Any help you can give me?
