    McLaughlin006's 98 2-door Tahoo Build

@77Concours: Believe it or not, I was actually going to ask on the forums where to get one. It originally had a red one up front, but it was obliterated in that wreck I had. What's the cost on it? Thanks in advance

    McLaughlin006's 98 2-door Tahoo Build

Oh! I forgot to post my double din install. When I do projects like this, it makes me realize how woefully inadequate my skill level is in this type of thing. I really enjoy it, I just know nothing about it. It still needs some work. The mic you see dangling down in front of the speedo...

    McLaughlin006's 98 2-door Tahoo Build

UPDATE! So, the upholsterer I found was BURIED in work. His work is REALLY good, but it's just him, so sometimes it takes a while to get things back from him. Couple that with the fact I told him I was in no rush, he just got started. Well, then I find out I have to make an unexpected trip...

    Wiring Aftermarket Heated Seats.

@Tyler: What wire would I use for this? Not kidding when I said I know nothing about this stuff, so I'd rather just ask folks that know. @Polar: I'm paying $2k for the seats. He's old school, doesn't use the catskinz kits, everything is done by hand. He's rebuilding the seat padding and...

Keyless Entry Question from a Dummy

Thanks, Polar. All that's left, now, is to order new remotes from the dealership or online. Awesome on the fast response, by the way!

    Wiring Aftermarket Heated Seats.

Rehashing this old thread, because the time has come to run the wires, as the new carpet and seats are about to go in. The guy doing the new leather on my seats is putting in the heater units inside the seats, but I need to have some available power for them when I take it to have the carpet...

Keyless Entry Question from a Dummy

I've owned my 98 2-door since 2000, and it had factory keyless entry. Over the years, one of the remotes was lost. It's then been through a VERY substantial front end collision, the clutches of a soulless ex-wife, and recently had the engine replaced with a Jasper engine after it finally gave...

In over my head : Pioneer AVIC-X950BH wiring questions!

Hooray! I got it all wired up and put in, and it works! I still have to pull it back out to do the speed input, but the GPS, radio and all of that works great. I'll post some pics when I get the dash finished, and everything is done. Thanks again for all of the help.

In over my head : Pioneer AVIC-X950BH wiring questions!

Aaand another. The wiring harness that formerly went into the OEM CD player, does that just go away at this point?

In over my head : Pioneer AVIC-X950BH wiring questions!

Chris, Thanks for the search terms, they actually helped a ton. Instantly found the parking break bypass, and you're correct on it being really easy/ Found the reverse signal wire and a couple of solid ideas on the speed signal wire. Another question, however. The only thing that will be...

In over my head : Pioneer AVIC-X950BH wiring questions!

Chris, you're making it difficult for me to dislike all Auburn fans... Seriously, thank you so much for your help. This reverse signal input and car speed signal input: what do I hook these up to? Are they even necessary? (I'm sure the reverse one will be when I pop in the rear camera) Also...

In over my head : Pioneer AVIC-X950BH wiring questions!

First of all, thanks for all of the quick responses! @kamokevin: No amp here, it's just the way it came in 1998. Wishing I had one now, sure would make things easier to just be able to plug in RCAs :( @eirik: Video won't be an issue as the only thing I plan to use it for is GPS and normal...

In over my head : Pioneer AVIC-X950BH wiring questions!

Greetings all, thanks for reading my thread. I'm gutting and redoing my 98 tahoe, inside and out. Part of this was installing a double din head unit with GPS and all the bells and whistles. After reading loads of reviews, the head unit with the most features I wanted in my price range was...

    Aftermarket Headlight Assembly

Thanks for the replies. @someotherguy: That's what I was thinking as well. From what I've read online, Anzo makes a quality product, and I like the design of that one. Like you, however, I noticed no projectors on that one. Projectors are not really a NEED or have-to-have item, I just...

    Aftermarket Headlight Assembly

I'm back and forth on which to get, and have no experience in this type of thing. I found this set: http://www.amazon.com/111102-Chevrolet-Projectors-Headlight-Assembly/dp/B0038AVHK6/ref=pd_sbs_auto_7?ie=UTF8&refRID=0SC51HT43N4TADEVH309 While it has good reviews, there are only 3 of them...

    Wiring Aftermarket Heated Seats.

Awesome, thank you for the quick answer. I didn't figure that it'd be incredibly difficult, but then again, I've never done anything like this before. I watched a couple of youtube videos and that picture you linked looks just like one that they used, if I'm not mistaken. Pretty stoked to get...

    Wiring Aftermarket Heated Seats.

I'm doing a complete overhaul of my 98 2-door Tahoe, and decided to put in aftermarket heated seats. I got a good deal on some, so I bought enough for 4 seats, so I can have heat for the front and two passengers in the back bench seat. Now, my question is this: Have I gotten in over my...

    Wiring under the carpet: Questions!

@thz71: Those wires are on the right side of the driver floorboard. As far as what they were for, I figured they were way too small to run heated seats, but figured they had to be for something. Perhaps some LED's in the console would work, I've seen some pretty nice jobs in the member's...

    Wiring under the carpet: Questions!

Thanks for reading, hopefully someone can answer my questions. I am completely gutting and redoing my 1998 2-door Tahoe, it's been long past time to do so. The carpet was SHOT, as it'd been used as a work truck and borrowed by various family members for moves and other jobs. So, since the...

    McLaughlin006's 98 2-door Tahoo Build

Progress on the build: Since I didn't want to not have my Tahoe for the duration of the seat reconstruction, I dropped my passenger seat and bench seat off at the upholsterer today, along with my heated seat kits. He has the leather on hand, but he's slammed so it may be up to 2 weeks before...

    McLaughlin006's 98 2-door Tahoo Build

Going back to the yard, next week, to see what else I can scrounge up. Will take a ton of pics of the disaster that is the current interior, then more when it's done. Super excited to redo my baby, I will never get rid of it.

    McLaughlin006's 98 2-door Tahoo Build

Alrighty! I have my carpet in, my upholsterer has the leather in hand and wants me to drop off the passenger and bench seat to him the later part of next week. Tomorrow will see the arrival of my heated seat kits for front and rear as well as my new head unit! For the head unit, I got a...

    My 99 Yukon Build Thread

So, I went out and got a good look, today. The bolt holes for the floor are considerably different, so I either need to make new holes or I need to modify where/how the brackets attach to the Navigator console. I'm totally clueless on this type of thing, so what would you suggest?

    My 99 Yukon Build Thread

I actually did get the brackets! The console was in surprisingly good shape, just needs some cleaning up. It was still attached when I found it, so I made sure to get the mounting brackets as well. Still has all the wiring blower, etc in tact. It was starting to get dark, but it looked like...
