Do you also agree with this?

Not trying to correct you but manufacturers variations come from the winter vs summer viscosity. That’s what the W stands for is wetherand that has to do with atmospheric pressure the change That cold weather does to it.

What is this "wetherand" you've mentioned? Even Google doesn't know. I've always heard the W is "winter".

Are you talking to me, specifically, now? Or the group?

If you're talking to me, I'm not sure where you're going with this, or what it's got to do with using what the OP said, but I'd say that I have a hard time agreeing with most of what you just typed, b/c to ME it makes little sense. What "manufacturer variations"? "Wether"? I've been taught in industry trade shows/classes/tech school and other industry peers, that the W is for "Winter". And finally, IDK what "atmospheric pressure change" has to do with the price of bread. I'm sure there is a legitimate point to what you're asking above, but IDK what it is.

I think he quoted something from the OP and then the whole post got discombobulated somehow. Late night typing and all.

With 5w-30 and ATF fluid so readily available, I just use that. You know you can’t go wrong with either. Since I’ve never used diesel oil or hydraulic fluid I can’t say. What are the advantages for using them?

Sorry I'm a "the new guy". I'm new here but not elsewhere. I'll do my best to fix that "new" problem, ASAP. :Big Laugh:

That paragraph was from the OP, Just trying to find out where you stand as you said that you agreed with the OP. I see now that you don't agree with every thing he posted. It's all good.

Diesel oil is cheaper and usually has more anti-wear and detergent additives.

Indeed, you're right....the OP did say that and I missed it. Yep, I don't agree with it. Looks like perhaps the "bottle" was talking, during that post?
