They're pretty easy to take apart and replace the bulb in, I dropped an LED into mine. Most all 95+ switches are lighted.

I tried at the junk yard. Broke 3 of them. The tang broke off on all three. Left me with a broken tang inside of the knob. I never did figure out a way to get that out without braking them. I ended up, pulling the rubber off of my OE, and painting the plastic under neath gray.it look good like that, but I know you can get a new one from e-bay.

For general consideration - The switch configurations should be thoroughly researched. You can spend a lot buying the theorhetically correct item. 88GMTruck is right about the dimensions on the aux light switch but I think that would remove the cargo lamp switch. Completely annoying that they did not make these standard. 88GMC truck, I am still not sure where you the aux light goes. BTW. Aux light is not the same as Aux Lamps. They seem to be a different form factor. I have one but have never been able to figure out where it goes on a 97.

Follow up on the post - I found one of the very rare 3 open vertical stack retainers. I dont think I need it. Holler out if you might. 88GMCTruck. Did you use the Aux Light Switch?

The switch you posted is from a gmt800, which is why it's a round button and doesn't fit the same.
