I've got a ratty 95 k2500 sclb truck with a dead 5.7 tbi. Was going to just swap another 5.7 but it's the only truck I've got with a 4l80. I've got a 04 Escalade ext (avalanche style) with a rusty frame that just smoked the 4l65. I need a truck to pull a car trailer and a goose neck and the 6.0 would fit the bill. I think I have everything but mounts and headers for the swap. The caddy has the p59 computer. I've got tbi and vortec parts to mix and match and what I need to program the computer. My big question is dbc dbw. Caddy is dbw with adjustable pedals. What pedal do I use for dbw or what throttle for dbc and how do I know if my computer will drive the idle air control motor for dbc?

If your using the 6.0 with it's original computer, you'll use it's matching pedal wire combination, that saves you extra mix, match and balance. ( They already play well together)
Good luck.
PS, this is the swap I want to do in my 95 K2500, sb, ext cab.

Up to you which configuration you go with...your harness and ECU is set up for the DBW pedal and TAC Module currently. You'd just have to rewire the plug for the 80E, and tap into your current harness for necessary things like gauges.

My buddy uses the 6.5L diesel pedal when he swaps squares. Bolts right in and works with a minor re-pin. My 8.1L Tahoe has a GMT400 8.1 pedal using the 8.1L Van TAC module and 0411 PCM tuning. 8.1 pedal is always an option too.

Didn't know they put the 8.1 in a gmt400 truck. I don't care what I go with just trying to do this cheep to get a truck up and going. Also don't know how to tell if my computer has drivers for dbc.

Whats the part number on your computer?

Generally only 03 DBC SUVs (my sister had an 03 DBC Tahoe 5.3L), 03-07 DBC Express vans, GTOs and 03-07 4.3L PCMs have the IAC drivers. I have seen exceptions, but generally the Escalades are not them.

The P59 in my 97 Express came out of an 04 Express.

Looks like no idle air control support.

Looking at both trucks I think I can swap stuff and end up with adjustable pedals in the 95

The caddy has the 6.0l and 4l65. The reason the transmission died was heat. Had a really loose converter and it picked up a misfire code and unlocked at 90mph and jumped 1000rpm. Radio playing and my head up my and I didn't notice until the smoke show and 340 trans temp. My 8.1 suburban isn't that bad but I think it's too loose also but it's got more torque. Anyway that converter acts like a cvt trans at light throttle and it's not helpful with milage. When it's locked up at 40 or so it will drag down to 1400/1600 rpm or so and will pull that with light load. The truck it's going into is a 95 tbi 5.7l k2500 with 4l80 and the 9.5 14bolt sf and 410 gears. Will the stock 5.7 converter be to tight for the 6.0? I'm using the p59 computer out of the caddy. Can I program the lock up differently between normal and tow haul modes? Can I program it to lock in 23&4? I'll be towing with this but mostly running 100 miles a day back and forth to work. I put on about 60k a year just doing that and the answer to these questions might add a little economy but I still want it to be able to work when I get a load on. This ls always wanted to be revved up. The Escalade ext got about 1mpg less than my 02 k2500 suburban with the 8.1. I drove the caddy at 80 and the sub about 90 both same size rubber and 373 gears

Trying to get parts rounded up for the swap. 6.0 runs good but has 250k miles on it. Wife drove it hard enough that the rings are finally seated. Oil consumption went from a quart in 400 miles to a quart in 1500 to 2000. I think most of it now is leaking from everywhere lol. Going to do a compression test and leak down before I pull it. Then re seal everything and new bearings and pump timing chain. Debating if I should just knock it apart and do a bread hone and a quick and cheep rebuild while I'm at it. Wouldn't take that much in time or money and would give me peace of mind. Also need to find some long tube headers for it.
