I'll start off by saying I am not paid to show this to y'all, I just really like the product.

As y'all might or might not know, the best company to buy the K2XX body style tow mirrors from is Boost Auto Parts. Recently, they just came out with a key fob designed for the GMT400 trucks (93+ specifically) that matches the style of K2XX key fobs. I've been wanting almost 2 years for this as I sent an email to them regarding it.
Once they finally came out with it, I immediately ordered one. While I obviously can't give a long term review, I decided to at least explain my first impression and how to program one.

The remote seems really well built, no creaks or case movement when you squeeze it. Its about 1 ½ inches wide and 2 ¼ inches tall. Since our original key fobs only came with two buttons, obviously this one does, too. The unlock button (on the right) is almost concave while the lock button (on the left) is convex so you can feel the difference if it's dark and you can't see. The unlock button has a very apparent click that you can feel. The lock button isn't as apparent. Sometimes I can't tell if the button is pressed because the click is so vauge. That's the only thing I can complain about.

Programming this thing is super easy if you never have before. It's the same as any other remote for these truck. I'm not sure if its the same for the earlier trucks, but on my '98 this is how you program it:
1. Get a piece of wire, the best is like old trailer wiring or a paper clip, but any smaller-size wire will work.
2. Connect the #4 and #8 ports on the OBDII port. Leave the wire in there until you've programmed the remote.
3. The locks on the truck will cycle lock/unlock.
4. As soon as it happens, hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the truck.
5. The locks will cycle again, and then the key fob is programmed.

They're only $40 with free standard shipping, which is cheaper than an OEM one on RockAuto, anyway, so might as well go with the Boost Auto Parts one if you want one.
