Noisy hood

97 Chevy k1500. In Louisiana it dropped below 35 finally and my hood opened and closed silently, not the temp is back up and when opening and closing I get a creaking noise, all my other friends with obs don’t get this. Any idea on how to fix?

Lube your hinges???
I know mine creaks and groans when I open/close the hood, but I've been too lazy to re lube the hinge

Whatever you use, don't use WD40! It'll just stick more after a while.

I had good results with PB blaster graphite spray. Be careful though it does not like to come off of anything you get overspray on. The nice part is that when it dries it does not collect dust.

Really need to try this on mine.

I figured the creaking hinges were just a factory option to let the neighbors know that I’m working on the truck again.
