Not sure where in Houston you are located. There are two astronomy clubs down there. I'm certain that members of both would be happy to help you decide and let you look through telescopes to get an idea. I like the dobsonian because it's about as simple a set up as can be had in astronomy. And...
Those are slip over seat covers instead of recoverings. The seats underneath look like you would expect for a 24 year old daily. My backside doesn't care that they are covers...
Here's my 219,000 mile 99 GMC Suburban that I picked up a few weeks back. Needed an engine so the original owner traded the title for $300. This won't be a fast build, hence the gobstopper reference. That's a candy from a classic movie in 71 for the uncultured. Yeah, I know, Depp did one...
Thanks!

Thanks, all.
The motor we put in is a 5.7 Jasper crate engine. Went with the upgraded engine that has a little more power than stock.
My wife surprised me this week and had the interior detailed. I won't say it looks new but it's pretty close.
Thanks, all.

I'm changing all fluids and getting to know this new to me 99 Suburban. Differentials went well, the fluids that came out of both were obviously a decade maybe two old. Turned my attention to the transfer case and found this. Ordered new plugs from parts geek.. But they sent the wrong ones...
Howdy from Texas.
New here and new to the GMT400s. I've been looking for a vehicle to haul my astronomy gear and do some overlanding since the darkest skies are usually off the beaten path. Got a call one day a few weeks ago from my son in law who manages a garage that he had a 99 Suburban...
