Collapsed Lifters 95 GenV Big Block

If, IF the studs' threads are OK, why not R&R rocker nuts with same OE "interference" type, but New?

I need mental help!!! What should I do?

    If it's a keeper, my vote's for swapping in the van's LS --- freshen-up/touch-up that 6.0L LY6 along w/ its 4L80E --- buy the proper ECU/PCM/ harnesses & fuel pump --- Instantly very reliable & 360+ hp.

    Oil Priming on L31 Vortec

Did you replace the small oil gallery plugs (Right & Left) at front face just behind top timing sprocket? If so, did you replace with same type; OE L31 have a small hole in both R & L plugs ? It matters.

    Oil Priming on L31 Vortec

I've used a cut-down old dist as a prime tool. But ya don't have to do that --- instead & with Any dist installed, ya can use a $10 cheapo pump-up garden sprayer and pressurize the system while rolling motor thru at least two complete revs

Had intake leak and now what

seems Dorman's 615-300 sub-par lower intake for L31 has been discontinued. crazy! 'bout 8 years back, a local yard paid my friends to install an L31 for their customer, it has a slight rattle so it had to be replaced; and my friends got paid once again to R&R motor. First one ran good but...

Had intake leak and now what

Yup, that's too stupid for me; Anything more than $200 New ain't on my radar. Big fan of L31 but, thanks all the same.

Had intake leak and now what

How & when did you find the first JY manifold was warped? Was it discovered only after you had installed it and it failed?

    Building a stroker motor

If I had unlimited funds I probably wouldn't be screwing around w/ $10K pickups. That said, if ya want truly BIG inch sbc, our kiwi friends were doing a 600" sbc for jetsprint race boats. JMO, there's little more ballsy than jetsprinting except Isle of Man TT mo'cycle races (rather lethal, June...

    Building a stroker motor

suggestion: if ya go more than 3.8" --- suggest go to a bigger bore like OE or aftermarket "400" piece. They breathe so much better with a larger bore; bigger bore helps unshroud the valves, it matters. No doubt the shrouding effect can only be increased by a 4" stroke in a 350 block. Of course...

1993 Yukon crate motor hydraulic roller lifter cleaning and adjustment journey - (Solved)

Seems many of that style VC are cast magnesium and seems all have little to no room for any roller rockers.

    starter bendix gremlin

next time: upgrade that old heavy amp-hog 10MT starter to a modern PG260 Permanent Magnet Gear Reduction starter for a newer truck (e.g. 1998). Integral to any such upgrade is to get the newer bolts as well; the old bolts will fit but you'll never get em to stay tightened in a new-style starter...

    Heads and cam?

since ya have little money in current JY motor, suggest start a new build with another JY motor: this time choose a roller block or, even better, a vortec L31 motor (eighth character in donor VIN is an "R") * ya really NEED to pull the lower end apart to clean out any metal from failed...

    Ball Joints Brands

I remember "Precision" brand U-joints (alternative to Dana-Spicer or MOOG) Dunno if Precision U-joints still marketed; nor who any parent may be. I probably still have an older Precision U-joint catalog somewhere.
