How To: Ditch EFI and keep TBI PCM for 4L60E Control.

I ran in major set backs getting it done and so far each has cause a flaw to be uncovered or a discovery of a thing I needed or needed changed. So alls good The 7427 DOES NOT have highway mode. The 165 Does. And it can be customized. That setting in a 85 to 91 Camaro and Corvette OUTSIDE the...

How To: Ditch EFI and keep TBI PCM for 4L60E Control.

I began working on cars in 1965 at 16. I got out of working on cars in ten years and into other work. None the less I worked on my own cars ever sense. I used to rebuild My Holly’s, AFBs and Quads. I knew them well and their flaws. And their flaws: Power valves in Hollys, leaking main jets...

How To: Ditch EFI and keep TBI PCM for 4L60E Control.

OK What about the Load sensor?? The MAP. My understanding it is also needed for good shifting? PS Any chance anyone here ever hooked up a ECM and a TPI intake to a late model and ran either a 4L60e or a 4L80E with Stock PCM to run the transmission like this thread is about? Rich

EGR: The good, the bad and the ugly??

I have read that it does displace some of the incoming air and fuel. This is the theory of more MPG by less pumping loses... I would like to read more on this idea, as it seems displacing air and fuel would become lean, and how would it limit more lean operation?? And another interesting...

    Any MPG Fans here??

"This guy was a fan of MPG: Stanley Meyer's water fuel cell." NOPE I tested HHO and found it did not work. Switching the whole world to water power cars would be a disaster, we barely have enough clean water for drinking and food, so to take the amount of water to run all the cars would be...

"Since the 70’s till now, in all your research and testing, what actually worked with any significant effect?" Other that getting a 2000 Mercury that got 30MPG at 65MPH at 1700RPMs going lean with it netted 35MPG at 65MPH at 1700RPMs. Making a living up unit the past 5 years keep me from any...

"My truck gets that now. Honestly a rectangular shaped vehicle(a van) wouldn’t be my choice for increasing mpg. Seems like you’ve been at this for a looong time without much success. I suppose eventually the wheel can be reinvented - with enough money." In my research I have found AREO does not...

This is a reply about AREO: I am a member here for a long time...https://ecomodder.com/ They too have done all of that and Hypermiling...some have done it all removed rear view mirrors and used back up cameras, removed windshield wipers, rain gutters, roof racks, boat tails and even belly...
