All too common LS swap vs unique old school small block

But the Gen6 454 was in everything, vans, uhaul trucks and county trucks it is cheap because everyone wants an LS or LT, just about everything I own is a Big Block my 78 crew cab with a Mark IV, my 95 K3500 with a Gen5 and I’m building a Gen6 with EFI from a boat because the intake has long...

All too common LS swap vs unique old school small block

The Gen6 is 410 Ft-lb of toque and 290 Hp in stock form but the toque starts at 1800 rpm. You don’t need a huge lift the heads are capable of enough power to get yourself in trouble of you want a cam swap you should change valve springs. The LS is the new Big Block, when you wanted power a 454...

All too common LS swap vs unique old school small block

    Spider injection issues

My advice for what it’s worth is to K.I.S.S the problem, move injectors see if the problem moves with the injectors you can rule out electrical problem, if it’s coils near place move coils. Hopefully it useful.

    L21 Vortec 454 worth getting?

I’m building a weird kit bash of a gen6 with a low mileage crate engine I got from an engine shop an intake off a boat, L21 valve covers for coil near plug, an oil pump drive off a v6 And a GM performance timing cover with a built in cam position sensor and a 58 tooth crank sensor I think any...

TH400 Needs Overdrive... 4L80E swap? Bolt on OD?

My 1995 GMC K3500 TBI 454, 4L80e with 4:10’s gets maybe 13-14 mpg at 55 mph it get around 10ish mpg at 70 mph. Your not going to get good mileage on a 7,600 lb truck.
