Some news from Poland ;) My Americano spent a lot of time in the service... Suspension, gearbox and engine are completely renovated. In addition, we added a few elements such as an air intake via a homemade snorkel ;) Compressor mounted on the engine (with an air tank near the frame) water tank...
Thx for advice.. Place behind front plate sounds good if You do not use it as a offroad car... In my case PMD often would be be under water, mud etc. It is reason why is mounted as high as possible...
is it possible to buy mechanical injector pump and convert my Americano for it ? W/o many problems and changes ?
OK. I found eg. this:
https://www.hdiesel.com/P/5ChevyGMCDieselInjectionPump/1071
Price is as for next used burban hahahaha
Hmmm I heard many scary stories... But my 6.5 have no any problems (and I hope that stay...). Only one thing what I did on the beginning - I move PMD from engine close to the fender....
Now my problem is with 4WD.... I have a rear... But fornt not... Steering panel is ok - replaced by new -...
Hmmmm, I don't know much details about this car ... I know that the gearbox is like you said - 4L80e and in the rear axle I have a G80 differential lock ... I have nothing at the front (only a winch under the bumper hahaha).
And why diesel have pretyy bad reputation ? "Grandfather" of this...
Looks a robust but after few days on Albanian roads suspension looked like on pic ;)
... or maybe the source of damage is a crazy driver;) Whatever - a solid car! It was beginning of my vacation ... Then - with only one shock absorber on rear axle I drove next 5000 km
Some pics of my burban aka "Americano" ;)

In my video (sorry for mixed formats and sources) I demonstrated (I hope so ) that the Suburban GMT400 is still good car for tourism with off-road accents
Hey Guys,
I bought Suburban K1500 '99 (GMT400) with 6.5TD engine... Because I like offroad (https://www.instagram.com/pan.gadzet.4x4/) - I want to lift my Burban between 4"-6".... and want to add a little bit bigger tires - like 33" or 35". To this moment sounds easy...
BUT
My Chevy have:
- a 8...
