Got a 93 GMC Sierra with JB6 brakes. I've heard that different things (like driving in reverse and applying brakes, applying emergency brake, etc) trigger the self adjustment of drum brakes depending on style of brakes. Q
My question is what initiates the self adjuster on this style of rear...
Need a couple parts to repair my bucket seat on my 93. Any ideas about where to find parts? (See pic) broken channel and missing fastener that attaches adjuster handle to channel.
Final Update: driveshaft shop said shaft had a dent/bend, they worked it out and rebalanced shaft and new u joint assay, shaking at 65mph+ is gone! Cost = $225 for 2 replacement u joints, shaft straighten and balance.
Yes, I have 4 new tires, mounted and balanced before trip to driveshaft guy. Trying not to fall in the black hole of chasing vibration, but we'll see how it goes.
Update: took to driveshaft shop today, guy there says this is normal procedure for DS balancing weights, had him replace both u joints and balance DS assembly. Will know whether this resolved the shake at 65mph+ in next day or so. He did say that the u joints looked like aftermarkets due to...
Got a weird high frequency vib at 65mph +. Rear of truck off ground on jackstands - def in rear. Looking at u joints and driveshaft. U joints have no obvious problems. Does this pic of driveshaft balance weights look normal?? Looks like it's been worked on before.
