    I suggest leaving the heads and cam alone untill you need to do a full overhaul. I got a noticeable improvement in performance in my 2000 L29 when I installed a K&N air intake and a less restrictive muffler.

    Good question. I'm not sure. I've only seen pictures and rubber seal described as a grommet. I've noticed a little wettness around the rubber seal that eventually runs down and develops a slow drip.

    I have a 2000 k2500 with the L29 engine. No filter adapter gasket. It takes the short filter, pf454, to fit above front drive shaft. I think your leak is from a failed filter.

    Dexcool seems to be hard on lower intake gaskets. Really softens and distorts the gaskets at the corner passages. How long since your last gasket repair and coolant swap?
